LOVELILLY ARTIST - LILLY WELLS I’m Lilly Wells, the creator of all the artwork on LoveLilly products, greetings cards and prints. I studied GCSE Art at school, but then didn’t pick up a paintbrush again until I was in my early 20’s. Looking for a hobby to help improve my mental health resulted in having a dabble with painting again. I discovered not only a passion for art, but also that I was quite good at it! I love being able to portray my feelings through my painting and to transfer my imagination onto paper. Living in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside provides plenty of inspiration and I am always working on new projects and creating new designs. My artwork is characterised by beautiful vibrant colours and features animals and flowers, with lots of bugs and creatures hidden within. Keeping the eye busy with lots of detail is one of my favourite things - detail in my art is essential to me. I love to make my animals playful and quirky with lots of character. My art makes people smile, and that means the world to me. But I also have another side to my art, where I create emotive paintings. I find expressing feelings through art so therapeutic, being able to add tiny details such as wrinkle lines in some of my monkey pieces, and a facial expression to show an emotion. To create an emotive piece of artwork that someone can relate to, and become attached to, is such a wonderful and special feeling.
