The Isla Tranqui Honey Company is a family business started by a brother and sister. Our apiaries are located on Isla Tranqui, a beautiful island in the Patagonia Rainforest Region of Southern Chile, where all who live there, live sustainably. No pesticides are allowed on the island and the water acts as a natural barrier. All our neighbors grow their own food and raise their own livestock. Electricity was introduced five years ago, and cars rolled onto the island about 3 years ago. It is like stepping back in time, everything is simple and everyone relies on each other. Our goal from day one was to create a premium world class honey using 100% natural techniques and procedures without artificial feed or chemical treatments. Our honey is always sustainably harvested, leaving enough for the bees as nature intended. Over this past year, we have been sharing the beekeeping trade with our neighbors on the island. Giving them equipment and hives, we are working together to create their own apiaries and much needed added income for them. Which means each purchase also helps support these men and women of the island. We hope you enjoy this true labor of love, poured into each and every jar of this, our first artisanal honey. Salud!
