About Waterline Studio

Welcome to Waterline Studio, where watercolor paintings by New England artist Alisa Zalosh are transformed into whimsical art prints and stationery products. Alisa lives in a seaside town north of Boston and spends time each summer on the coast of Maine. She comes from a family of artists, including a 19th century portrait artist whose works hang in Boston-area museums and at Harvard University. As a child, Alisa painted alongside her mother, an accomplished watercolorist, for pleasure; these early years of watercolor exploration provided the foundation for her artistic endeavors today. Alisa particularly enjoys the challenge of turning mundane objects—such as sporting equipment or nautical hardware—into visually appealing compositions by focusing on shape, color, and negative space. A graduate of Duke University (BA) and Columbia University (MBA), Alisa's professional experience includes marketing and business development roles at a range of early-stage technology companies, case study writing and development for MBA programs, and marketing communications consulting. She lives with her husband, two teenage daughters, and their incredibly smart terrier, Freddy. Read their story
