The Oryad Co. began as a hobby, creating handmade gifts for friends and family. As ingredient lists on store-bought products continued to grow longer and more complicated, we felt a strong desire to offer something simpler — products made with ingredients people can feel confident about. We use USA-grown soy wax in all of our soy wax-based products, and our soaps feature short, transparent ingredient lists, including natural colorants like clays. Our fragrances are carefully formulated to be safe and effective in candles, wax melts, and soaps. We are committed to improving our packaging to be more environmentally friendly, using recycled, post-consumer, or recyclable materials whenever possible. Some of our items come in "rescued jars" — vessels sourced from other local makers who no longer had a use for them. These jars may have minor imperfections, like a small scratch or scuff, which might make them unsellable in today’s market.
