Welcome to Charly Lux from Aachen. The interplay of light and shadow has fascinated me my entire life. In my youth, I experimented with lamps and lights to create a cozier atmosphere in my room. About 15 years ago, together with my father, I built the first bottle lamp from a large beer bottle. Today, in my early 30s, my passion for home furnishings, especially lamps, is still present. That's why I started collecting empty gin bottles and turning them into table lamps. In my opinion, gin bottles are particularly suitable for this because they come in the most wonderful shapes and colors, and you can combine them beautifully with different cables and lampshades. Through friends, acquaintances, and colleagues, I received a lot of encouragement and motivation to build more lamps. I am especially grateful to my wife, who not only tolerates me and my quirk but even encourages and supports me when things don't go smoothly. At the end of 2018, I decided to start my own business on the side and founded "Charly Lux." The name Charly, in reference to Emperor Charlemagne, represents a connection to my hometown of Aachen. The term Lux comes from Latin and means "light." But not only lamps, but also soap dispensers are upcycled from empty bottles :)
