About Rachel Ortiz

A stained-glass technician by trade, I immediately became interested in the “fusing” technique to apprehend volume via thermoforming. The brand “Bijoux Ortiz” emerged in 2007, the desire to create a unique line inspired by decorative arts, revealing the intrinsic charms of glass, was obvious. In perpetual search for something new, no two pieces are similar, however, I decline my models. The supports are made of 24-carat gold-plated brass (3 microns) or silver plated. I work with different ranges of glass (murano, spectrum, soda-lime...) and incorporate various elements; gold leaf, metal oxides, enamels, glass chips, powders... So many inclusions and ornaments, in order to obtain an exceptional piece for you. Read their story
