Glory Bound Gyro Co. started with a three-hour lunch on the Greek island of Poros, where restaurant friends Will Taylor and Chris McDonald sketched out a plan for a laid-back Mediterranean spot back home in the South. On December 4, 2009, they opened in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, serving their own take on the gyro, and sold more than 68,000 of them in the first year alone. Seventeen years, three restaurants (Hattiesburg, Tuscaloosa, and Ocean Springs), and a Best Gyro in America nod in 2018 later, we finally bottled the ingredient behind all of it: cold-pressed olive oil. Our oil comes from a family-run grower and miller in California's Santa Ynez Valley that has been pressing since 1998. It is certified extra virgin, the same oil we buy for our own kitchens, never a refined blend. We offer it three ways in 16 oz precision flip-top squeeze bottles: Extra Virgin, Garlic, and Rosemary Garlic. This oil was not developed in a lab or a marketing department. It was proven on a restaurant line, night after night, for seventeen years.
