Here's a simple breakdown of the difference between our two product offerings. It really comes down to the max thickness of the logs they can light without needing kindling: The Bonfire: If you want a guaranteed fire with small logs no thicker than Red Bull cans (2 inches thick), we recommend the Bonfire. If the logs are thicker, you'll have to split them or they won't light properly. If you don't mind splitting your logs into small logs and want to still not need kindling, we recommend this starter. Survivor: If you need a guaranteed fire with medium and large logs without any kindling and minimal log splitting, we recommend the Survivor. This is a heavy-duty starter made for lighting larger logs with its 30+ minute burn time. Logs can be up to four inches thick (the equivalent of two Red Bull cans put together). Read their story
