About Kate Slater

Kate Slater is an illustrator inspired by the natural world and her love of colour and storytelling. When she isn’t creating new art for cards, wrapping paper, prints, tea towels and bird decorations, Kate illustrates children's books. Kate’s designs begin as collages - she uses old magazines, envelopes, painted paper - anything she can get her hands on! She is dedicated to creating everything sustainably; all her wrapping paper and cards are printed on 100% recycled paper and she uses organic cotton for my tea towels. Everything is made in the UK. Kate’s favourite things to collage are always birds, but she has illustrated everything from ants to woolly mammoths, and when she isn’t illustrating, she paints on the walls of her home in Lichfield, Staffordshire.Read their story
