Grain sorghum or sorghum in Latin is the 5th cereal produced in the world (and also in France). Sorghum and millet belong to the family: Mils. Depending on the continent, it has different names: “big millet” in Africa, “Indian millet” in Asia, “Chinese sugar cane” in the USA for example. Microbiota science and public research centers are increasingly interested in this cereal that is both ancestral and future: a cereal full of benefits for human health. Recent studies tell us that it can prevent and control type 2 diabetes, act positively against chronic inflammatory bowel disease (an anti-inflammatory function) and cardiovascular problems (improve blood flow). It is presented by Western researchers and nutritionists as a cereal of the future and SMART-FOOD because of its numerous benefits for human health with preventive and curative benefits.
