The day that Danielle's children were both old enough to attend school, she dusted off all of her old equipment, tools, and looked at all of the old supplies she had sitting in boxes from her days at MassArt and North Bennet Street School in Boston from some 15+ years prior. After that first blow of the hammer after all of those years, she became inspired and excited to start this handmade journey. This was in December of 2017 and that is when she started Danielle Robichaud Jewelry as a local brand. Each individual piece is handmade by Danielle in her tiny studio in Massachusetts. The copper is sourced from reclaimed copper pipe and other copper items and upcycled to make her jewelry. The copper is flattened into a sheet, hand cut, textured and oxidized, then finished to a polished rustic finish and sealed in Renaissance Wax. Stainless steel (hypoallergenic) findings are added to complete the pieces. The pieces are then added to kraft paper cards for display on pegs. She loves copper for its rich color and versatility, and for its ability to adapt to its surroundings and be worn on any skin tone as well as any person. Jewelry care: To clean the copper items, dip in warm water and mild dish detergent, scrub with a soft toothbrush and pat dry with a soft towel. A standard polishing cloth can also be used for a bright shine. Do not wear in chlorinated pools or hot tubs, or dip in tarnish remover.Read their story
