Thirty-three years ago my wife gave me a scroll saw for my birthday. At the time we lived in a small house and my workshop was about 100 square feet in the basement. I would go to the basement after a stressful day at work and make things for about an hour. We would display these pieces in our house or gift them to friends or charities. I kept getting the same comment, “You should sell your work.” At that time, I just didn’t have the time to build the inventory. I retired in 2015 and now have time. Since 2016, I have been displaying my art as Rocking-F Woodworks in venues from the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, central Mississippi, the Delmarva peninsula and now South Texas. Pieces of my art have homes from as far away as South Africa to Sweden and the Philippines. My crosses have been displayed in the White House and a Governor’s mansion. Why my Rocking-F Logo? My family has been using the Rocking-F to brand their livestock for as long back as I can follow (about 1660 in America). No one is currently using the brand (that I can find). I decided to use it to mark my pieces.
