As a parent of 6 children, we originally started using sensory bins with our 2 autistic children. It helped to regulate these kiddos that we almost always had some type of sensory bin on hand for them. We quickly found out that every one of our kiddos loved the sensory bins (including the older kiddos) and would often sit for hours playing with them. So of course I used this to my advantage and kept multiple bins that I rotated to keep them engaged. I quickly realized that sensory play helps to nurture a child's curiosity and growing mind.
