About White Stable Farms

White Stable Farms is a plant business run by the father – daughter duo of Chris & Grace Mower. After retiring from his corporate job, Chris’ 4 children told him he needed to find a hobby to keep him busy. Chris always had a passion for plants. He was a horticulture major in college, and has been an avid gardener throughout his life. Plants have always brought him joy, and he knew he wanted to spread his love to others. When beginning the company, he quickly realized that plants can be intimidating for many consumers as they don’t know how to care for them and when they have questions, they have no one to ask. He wanted to provide this 1:1 service and be able to use his knowledge to grow other’s love for plants. While traveling in Italy visiting his daughter, he saw a Kokedama hanging in a store window, and knew this unique style would be the foundation to his business. He mastered the technique of making Kokedama and started White Stable Farms. Grace soon joined to help with all things marketing – starting with business cards and banners and now has expanded to running ecommerce and social media. Chris started selling Kokedama as local farmers markets and was surprised about how much consumers loved the novelty and beauty of Kokedama. They soon expanded to selling via ecommerce to be able to reach customers nationally.
