About Black Cards

I'm a high school teacher, a family man, and a visual artist. My artistic purpose is to represent, empower, uplift, glorify and convey the emotions of black and brown people. I have come to realize the importance of representation in all things through the lens of fatherhood. I was playing cards with my kids one day when I realized that the kings and queens didn't look like them! I set out to fix it for my kids. Over time, I started painting portraits of Black kings and queens. Eventually, I created a few decks for my family and posted them on Facebook. The response was immediate and INTENSE. The reaction and demand for this product have helped me understand that not just my children benefit from such a product - everyone does!Read their story
