About Sia Deco

At the origin of the world-famous artificial flower brand is a woman. The name SIA is nothing but the acronym of the initials of the Founder, Sonja Ingegerd Andersson. The story begins in her kitchen in Sweden, where she makes flowers by hand and cuts them out of tissue paper. We were then in 1963, at the heart of the Flower Power movement. The women's magazine “Femina” published her creations and it was an immediate success. Orders flock to the small house in Lustgarden, which is transformed into a workshop where the whole village cuts, folds and sends by mail flowers that open into multicoloured corollas. The house must annex outbuildings, half of the people in the village work there but Sonja has already gone off to other creations: vases, batiks, tableware, decorative objects, small furniture, candlesticks, candles...Read their story
