About the red seed

Currently over 100,000 units sold: The Red Seed started back in early 2018. I loved sunflower seeds and always snacked on them. I also love spice even more, and I couldn’t for the life of me find any sunflower seeds out there in the market that satisfied the heat craving. I searched the net, ordered from the different brands I could find that had any spicy, and I was still disappointed. Right then and there the idea was born. I wanted to come up with a brand that offered a more enjoyable snacking experience, that offered unique and bold flavors. It was initially intended to be an entire spicy line, however, I learned quickly that not everyone likes spice (and actually, Ketchup is the most popular). I started working at this idea, creating the brand, designing the logo, sourcing the product, working with the manufacture to enhance the flavors, handing out samples, learning about the consumer product business, and launching the business, all part time while I was working my accounting job (I would even bring samples in little containers to my work and hand them out to my colleagues to get their feedback). Once I built enough demand I gained the confidence I needed to make the leap; I scaled back from accounting and eventually quit after 4 months of launching for sale back in April 2020. (The entire business started in my basement, I had to move back home with my parents, renovated the basement, got it approved and licensed, and started from there). This is only the start!
