Partners in life and business, each piece at J Bliss Studios is handcrafted by artists Joanna and Jared Bliss in their Woodstock studio. Joanna a metalsmith, and Jared an illustrator, the couple has been immersed in the world of art and nature their entire lives. Joanna is inspired by traditional metalworking techniques and the importance of jewelry throughout history. With a BFA in metalsmithing from SUNY New Paltz and over 20 years professional experience in the field her expertise is in hand wrought jewelry created for everyday wear. Inspired by their fascination of nature and science fiction, Jared draws from both reality and the imagination. Creating illustrations of creatures and landscapes that are familiar yet other worldly, each drawing has its own story to tell.Read their story
