Everything is AO Clay In one of Amy's earliest pottery classes, someone asked how she was doing. She said: "Everything is AO Clay." Years later, building a brand with Brian, the name chose itself. How it started Amy has made ceramics for over ten years. For their first Christmas together, she made Brian a handmade ceramic San Diego magnet. He couldn't stop staring at it — it reminded him of his mom collecting a magnet from every family trip, the fridge a map of everywhere they'd been. Brian asked: had Amy thought about making magnets for the other states? AOClay was born in 2025 from that question, and the belief a small object can carry real meaning. Made by hand in San Diego Every piece is made by hand by Amy and Brian at our Liberty Station studio. California clay is rolled, cut into state shapes, dried, and fired. Each heart is hand-painted in your chosen color, so no two pieces look alike. Finishing — ribbon, felt pads — is by hand too. Each piece takes 4–10 days to make.
