About Stapledon Arts

Stapledon Arts transform creativity in homes, schools, and beyond — making art fun and accessible for all backgrounds, ages, and skill levels! Stapledon Arts was born from Charlecia Joy's deep desire to revolutionize art education and address the lack of inclusive art supplies. Inspired by her experience teaching art in NYC public schools, she saw a need for materials that truly reflect melanin-rich skin tones. Our founding product Melanin Series—a set of 12 inclusive skin tone colors, was created to fill this gap. We’ve also partnered with creatives of color to design signature art kits that celebrate diverse cultures through stunning visuals. We're not selling art supplies. We're investing in creative potential and dismantling representation barriers. Read their story
