About Minton Ceramics
I make and fire my work in a reduction gas kiln at my home studio in Los Angeles. I gained a BA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York and explored many areas of the arts including ceramics. I then received a MFA from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. After graduate school, I worked as a designer and also as a fine artist. I enjoyed doing both, but always wished there was something in the middle. It was in 2015 when I rediscovered ceramics. The blend of using my fine art and design education while incorporating function felt like the missing link to my creative journey. With ceramics, there’s always something new I can learn and explore about the earth’s materials used in ceramics, it’s something that keeps me inspired every day.
