About Crawligator

The Crawligator was first introduced in the 1960s with a simple purpose: to help babies move, explore, and develop naturally through crawling. For decades, it quietly disappeared from the market—until I discovered it years later when I became a grandmother. Watching my own grandkids struggle with tummy time, I realized many activity mats and play gyms positioned children on their backs and didn’t promote tummy time comfortably. When I found the original Crawligator, I immediately saw what made it different. It supported them—encouraging natural crawling motion in a gentle, intuitive way. In 2017, I brought the Crawligator back to life, carefully redesigning it to meet today’s CPSC safety standards. It is proudly Made in the USA and designed in partnership with pediatric physical therapists to promote healthy positioning and early development. The Crawligator is an innovative alternative to traditional tummy time toys like activity mats. It supports independence at their own pace, proving to be an inclusive toy for children who need a little extra support. Today, the Crawligator is HSA/FSA eligible and STEM.Org authenticated. It has been recognized with the 2022 Baby Independent Innovation Award and as a Top Holiday Toy by The Toy Insider.
