About Mina Ro Mina

We are a women-owned company that creates handmade pieces with original and timeless designs inspired in Mexico. We work with craftsmen and small local suppliers, throughout the years we have helped them grow alongside with us. We promote a culture of gender equality and fair trade. Born in the beautiful and historical state of Guanajuato, Erika grew up surrounded by mines of both metals and stones. Since she was two years old she began practicing different art disciplines that eventually led her to choose a career in graphic design. After graduating and working a few years in advertising, Erika decided focus in sculpture and took a workshop in Italy where she started sculpting wax pieces. While making her first pieces of jewelry she discovered her true passion. Later on she travelled to New York to work with master jeweler and began to practice the art of creating pieces from the scratch. Finally in 2009 she founded Mina Ro Mina, a jewelry brand that reflects art, movement and nature in every piece she makes. With her country Mexico as an inspiration, Erika chooses to sculpt by hand integrating different textures and enhancing her designs with natural stones, crystals, pearls and mother of pearls. ABOUT THE NAME Inspired by Guanajuato’s historical mines, Mina Ro Mina not only takes it's name from the long amazing tunnels, but also from the tradition that this artistry represents in Mexico.
