About Cioccolato Maglio

The history of the Company began in 1875 when the Maglio family founded their small family-run business in Maglie. Thus, for more than 145 years, the members of the Salento family with talent and tenacity have increased this family heritage, passing on knowledge and tradition from generation to generation. In the early twentieth century, Dante Maglio combined the main activity with banquets and receptions at home, and started the production of artisanal liqueurs. The desire to experiment and innovate prompted Dante to use chocolate as a coating for almond paste-based specialties. His son Vincenzo, in the 1960s, found fertile ground to intensify the production of chocolate and pastry: an innovative spirit, invented recipes, enriched the confectionery production and decided to identify the company with the brand with the buggy. Since the 80s, Vincenzo's children Massimo and Maurizio Maglio have been at the head of the Maglio group, who have bequeathed an inestimable wealth of values. Since 2014, together with Massimo and Maurizio, Maurizio's son, Vincenzo, has continued the journey of the Maglio company, thus reaching the 6th generation of passion for chocolate. Cioccolata Maglio is synonymous with TRADITION, INNOVATION and RESEARCH.
