About Alta's Ornamentation

My grandmother, Alta Ethilda Barnhart was born in 1904 and making something out of nothing was her specialty. I'm glad I inherited my creative abilities from her and followed her example of hard work, determination, and perfection. I think of her when I make my mobiles, jewelry and chimes. I use a variety of professional tooling to bring my creations to life such as a water cooled variable speed band saw, pliers, rotary tools, arbor press, drill press and burnisher. My work is carried by a wide variety of retailers and I'm proud to be a member of the Greater Ithaca Art Trail. Recently, I was featured in Life in the Finger Lakes magazine as an up-cycling artist.
