About Western Sketch

Hi, I’m Melissa the owner and illustrator at Western Sketch I graduated with an illustration degree in my twenties but ended up working in retail, where I stayed for 15 years! I became a Children’s Wear Buyer which I loved, but after being made redundant and unable to find any flexible working within the industry, I took some time out to enjoy my new role as a Mum. During this time I started drawing again, and I've been doing so ever since. Turning my hand painted illustrations into Greeting cards. Western Sketch was established in 2018 at a local village show where I pitched up with 25 Greeting Card designs to sell, and I've been building my business ever since. I am a one woman band and work hard to succeed as a Card Publisher, I am proud to be stocked in so many beautiful independent shops as well as the World's most famous corner shop - Fortnum and Mason.
