About Blake Gore Miniature Art

Using a .03mm pen nib and canvases often no larger than an inch or two, I draw miniatures that invite people to slow down and rediscover the joy of what’s easily missed. Every piece is hand‑drawn without magnification or eyeglasses, embracing the challenge of creating more with less and letting constraints spark creativity. I didn’t come to art through traditional training. At 37, while working as an instructor and adviser at Vanderbilt University, I rediscovered drawing through a simple miniature prompt on social media. What began as a breakfast table experiment quickly grew into a daily practice, a new way of seeing, and eventually a full‑time artistic journey. Since then, my miniatures have shown from Middle America to Manhattan and found homes in private collections around the world. Along the way, I’ve collaborated with brands such as Jo‑Ann Stores, Monopoly/Hasbro, BLICK Art Materials, Sakura of America, Canson, Strathmore, and General Pencil, partnerships that reflect my love of craft, curiosity, and creative play. Originally from Mississippi and now based in Southwest Virginia’s New River Valley, I continue to explore the quiet wonder of tiny things.
