About Birdy's Provisions

Birdy's Provisions make small-batch mustards crafted in New England. Our mustards follow the foundations of traditional mustard production and are the product of 10 years of research and development. Our recipes rely on few ingredients to highlight the amazing flavors of the mustard seed. We avoid heat in our production (as it dramatically changes the flavor), and never add preservatives or additives. Birdy's evolved from a love of both food and ecology. Our founder, Doug Partridge, has been researching or making mustard most of his adult life. He completed his graduate research on the ecological properties of the family of mustards (Brassicaceae). Mustards are a diverse and widespread family of plants found globally. During this time, he became keenly aware of the culinary importance of the mustard family. In considering ways to bring this love of food and ecology together, Doug considered the importance of mustard in his cooking. Mustard was and continues to be the staple provision in our kitchen! He then entered what has been a ten year journey of research and development to bring Birdy's into your kitchen! Read their story
