About Hansen’s Craftory

We started making candles and soaps as Christmas gifts for family and friends in 2018. By the fall 2019 we started going to small craft shows and farmers markets. We changed our business name Hansen’s Craftory in 2021 to increase our visibility online. In 2023 we decided to open a brick and mortar in the small town of Snow Hill, MD. In 2025 we opened our second location in Chincoteague Island, VA. We commit to using eco-friendly products and packaging wherever possible. Our soaps are made by hand in small batches. Our soaps are available with or without a recyclable/compostable kraft paper box. We use reusable glass jars for our candles. We use low-plastic wax melt trays sealed with a top label instead of a lid. Made in the USA from recyclable rPET, our melts and Candles feature American-grown soy wax, eco wicks, and phthalate-free fragrances—no Prop 65 warning required. We also reuse packing materials and eco peanuts for shipping. We believe in giving back to our community at every opportunity. We donate products and gift cards to fundraisers, raffles, shelters, as well as to conservation organizations.
