About Hansen’s Craftory

We started making candles and soaps as Christmas gifts for family and friends in 2018. By the fall of the following year we started going to small craft shows and farmers markets. We changed our business name Hansen’s Craftory in 2021 to increase our visibility online. In 2023 we decided to open a brick and mortar in the small town of Snow Hill, MD. We are proud to be a downtown boutique that offers mostly locally handcrafted products. We commit to using eco-friendly products and packaging wherever possible. Our soaps are made by hand in small batches. Our soaps are available with or without a recyclable/compostable kraft paper box. We use reusable glass jars for our candles. We use wax melt trays that contain less overall plastic by closing with a top label instead of a plastic lid. They are made in the USA from rPET plastic that is truly recyclable. We use American-grown soy wax, eco wicks, and phthalate-free fragrances; none of our products require a Prop 65 warning. Whether shipping our products to consumers or retailers, we make use of previously used packing materials, including reused cardboard boxes and eco peanuts. We believe in giving back to our community at every opportunity. That's why we donate products and gift cards to school fundraisers, community raffles, shelters, and volunteer fire companies, as well as to conservation organizations.
