Shemsa Hanım’s story goes back many years, to 1887. And this story; It mirrors the loving coexistence of nature and humans, and a deep-rooted tradition that a family has maintained for 4 generations. Shemsa Hanım, who was born as the daughter of a margrave in the 19th century in the Ottoman Empire, was laying the first foundations of a tradition that defies centuries, after her marriage with one of the leading deputies of the period, although she did not know it yet. Shemsa, living up to its name, has become a light on the future of the lands it cultivates. At every step, she nurtured the region with her manners, knowledge and love of nature and contributed to its development. She saw her work not as agriculture but as a partnership in harmony with nature. She enjoyed sharing the richness of nature with those around her by preparing scrubs from lavender, essential oils from roses and soaps from olives with her own hands. Throughout her life, she established such an unbreakable bond with the land; Although her family raised valuable individuals who worked in many fields from politics to science, from religious scholars to company management, she never left her land. Today, the 4th generation of the family continues to perpetuate Shemsa’s legacy, follow her path and plant the seeds she has planted.
