Lauryan Yoga Boutique carries the names of my two children, Lauren and Ryan — my footprint on this world, and my reason for building something that lasts. As a mom, I believe the world we leave behind is the one they inherit, so we owe them better. My path to yoga began in grief. After my father passed, I found an unexpected stillness on the mat — a peace I hadn't known I needed. But as my practice deepened, I kept meeting the same frustration: I sweat, a lot, and I'd slide right off every synthetic mat I tried. That search for something better led me to cork — porous, sustainable, and, remarkably, grippier the more you sweat. I was hooked. Today, LauryanYoga crafts eco-friendly cork mats, blocks, and accessories for adults and children alike — including a child-sized cork mat, still a rarity for our littlest yogis. Each carries our elephant: a symbol of strength, power, and patience — the very qualities we hope to nurture in our children.
