About Country Life Natural Foods

Country Life Natural Foods was founded on the vision of Ronald and Sylvia Crary, who believed food could be both nourishing and life-changing. In 1967, they opened Life Line Health Center, a vegetarian café and bakery in Grand Rapids, Michigan, that challenged convention—no meat, no smoking, and no set prices. Guests paid what they could, while receiving wholesome meals, encouragement, and sometimes even a new direction in life. Out of this simple beginning came Almond Delight granola, then a bakery, and eventually a factory in Pullman, Michigan. That small seed grew into Country Life Natural Foods. Through the 1970s and 80s, the Crarys helped launch more than two dozen Country Life vegetarian restaurants worldwide, each combining healthy food with practical teaching, Bible studies, and community outreach. Many found better health—and faith—through these humble centers of service. Today, Country Life Natural Foods has grown into a trusted nationwide source of non-GMO and organic shelf-stable foods. From our warehouse in Pullman, we ship thousands of boxes each month, yet our foundation remains the same: a commitment to health, service, and Christ-centered values. For over 60 years, we’ve carried forward the Crary family’s mission—to make wholesome food accessible to families everywhere, while staying true to the principle of putting others first and caring for our bodies.
