Martha Hull didn’t become an artist because it seemed fun—she started painting because the stories in her head refused to stay quiet. Her work lives somewhere between funny and a little dark—full of big-eyed characters, strange thoughts, and hand-lettered observations about life. Every piece begins as an original painting in her Burlington, Vermont studio, where she’s usually chasing two things: beauty and humor.
