About Old Soul Arts
Hey there! I’m Monica and I am a full-time artist in Dallas. I’m so glad you’re here! I have been selling art for about 10 years, but the real start to my business occurred unexpectedly when I crash-landed after completing my Masters in counseling. I recognized it was not the path for me, but I thought I had to go through with it. Then, miraculously, I was granted the opportunity to sell my art out of the East Dallas coffee shop I was working at. I had formed such a community of beautiful friendships with customers that my art was extremely well-received. Seeing my art bring joy to people brought purpose to my work. I realized it was what I was meant to do! I made a big leap in December 2025 and quit my job in order to pursue my art full-time. I leaned into my community even more and was blessed with many incredible opportunities to bring art all over Texas, Illinois, and Tennessee. I am grateful for all of the lessons I have learned along my path, the most important of which is to be authentic by listening to what brings me peace, purpose, and joy. I had to clear out a lot of "supposed to's" to end up where I am now, and I am glad I did. I want my work to be a witness that everyone is born with a specific purpose. The norms of this world are really good at throwing us off that track. But if you listen, you will always find your way back. You can always change direction if you listen to what brings you joy and serve others with the gifts you have been given!
