About Swaplights Night Lights

Swaplights is a handmade brand specializing in unique, decorative night lights. Every Swaplights cover is meticulously designed, laser cut, and assembled in my home studio in Seattle, Washington. Swaplights were inspired by a childhood favorite: the classic View-Master. I loved the idea of clicking through different scenes, but I wanted to take that magic out of the little red viewer and put it on display for everyone. With my patent-pending design, you can effortlessly pop on a new colorful cover to celebrate the holidays, decorate for the changing seasons, or simply match whatever mood you're in. Bringing a new Swaplight design to life is a true mix of digital art and modern machinery. I start by designing each concept in Adobe Illustrator. Next, the silhouette is laser-cut from acrylic and tested to ensure all the fine details hold strong. Many of the colorful backgrounds are UV printed in-house to pair perfectly with the cut out design. Finally, the back hook is 3D printed, creating that satisfying "click" as the cover snaps into place on the light base. How it works: Your customer buys a "Starter Kit" which includes the night light and a cover. Then they can create their own bundle of swappable covers without needing to purchase a new light base. The most popular combination with my online customers is an "everyday" night light and an assortment of holiday or seasonal covers. New designs drop quarterly, so there's always a new Swaplight cover to collect!Read their story
