About Sylvia Raschella

Hey there! I'm Sylvia, a quilter and designer based in Los Angeles, California. I design and write fresh quilt patterns for the modern quilter with easy to follow instructions and colorful diagrams. I first learned to quilt while pregnant with my son in 2013. My Grandma Jean helped me make my first quilt – his baby quilt. Needless to say, I quickly fell in love with the craft and, to this day, can’t sew fast enough to keep up with all the projects I want to make. Although I’ve been surrounded by creativity and design all my life, even graduating with a degree in Graphic Design, it wasn’t until I found quilting, that I truly felt like I found my calling. I continued to hone my skills over the years and found my way back to design. I loved the idea of combining my love of design with my passion for quilting, and in 2021, I released my first quilt pattern, Lava Blooms. Since then, I’ve released several more patterns, my work has been featured in Love Patchwork and Quilting Magazine, Art Gallery Fabrics Lookbooks, and I designed and released my own planner for quilters, The Quiltessential Planner. When I’m not quilting or designing, you can usually find me at Disneyland with my hubby and two kiddos.Read their story
