I learned how to spin cord when I was in high school in Home Economics class, I was about 15, we made all kinds of items but what I loved making most was rope that could be used as jewelry.. I have been in the pearl business for many, many years and use all kinds of materials, from leather to silk to linen and my own hand spun nautical grade cord.. made from a combination of nautical grade polyester, which will stand up to daily wear and getting wet, BUT super soft against your skin. My Mermaid Rope is made to TAKE IT.. My MERMAID ROPE comes out to app. 1.5mm in size, delicate but super strong! I make four different colors of my Mermaid Rope, medium tan, dark reddish brown, black and steel grey.. I make a standard 17" necklace but this can be changed according to your wishes. I use AAA grade freshwater pearls and fine gemstones. We also cast our own sterling silver charms and pendants.. All my products are made right here in Florida on the gorgeous Emerald Coast, northwest Florida..
