About MAMO

MAMO is a modern Irish wellness brand rooted in ancestral care, family craft, and sensory ritual. The name is personal. In Bulgarian, mamo is the word used for one’s mother when care is needed; in Irish, mamó is the familiar word for grandmother. The brand is built on that shared language of care and on a tradition of soap-making passed down through generations. Based between the Wicklow Mountains and the Irish coast, MAMO is a family-run studio where all products are formulated, made, cured, and packed in small batches. Our cold-processed soaps are slow-cured and sulphate-free, made without palm oil or synthetic fragrance, using high-quality oils, plant butters, and herbal infusions brewed in-studio from Irish botanicals. Alongside classic bars, we create fully biodegradable loofah soaps for a plastic-free cleansing and exfoliation ritual. Our candles are hand-poured using soy wax and cotton wicks, inspired by the Irish landscape and traditional Irish proverbs. Our dog care collection is crafted to the same standard as our human skincare — gentle, functional, and ingredient-led. Shampoo bars, balms, and sprays are made with human-grade ingredients such as calendula, chamomile, colloidal oats, and medicinal mushrooms. Formulation is led by Darina, a food engineer and chemist with over forty years’ experience, combining traditional methods with modern plant chemistry to create formulas that are safe, stable, and genuinely effective.
