About DECE Market

DECE is a social enterprise built on a simple but powerful belief: a job can change everything. Founded in 2009, DECE began as a small community initiative in Northwest Romania with a bold vision: to create meaningful, dignified employment for Roma artisans who had been systematically excluded from stable work for generations. What started with a handful of women and basic crochet skills has grown into an internationally recognized Fair Trade organization producing high-quality fashion and accessories for a global market. Today, DECE employs artisans across multiple workshops, providing full-time jobs, steady income, skills training, and long-term opportunity. We are proud certified members of both the Fair Trade Federation (FTF) and the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), holding ourselves to the highest standards of ethical production, transparency, and social impact. DECE was created in response to deep systemic barriers faced by the Roma community, limited access to employment, education, and social inclusion. Rather than offering short-term aid, DECE focuses on something enduring: real jobs that are fairly paid, rooted in craftsmanship, and built to last. From the beginning, our goal has been people: recognizing talent, investing in skills, and building a business together. Our collections span leather goods, apple textile, up-cycled truck tarps, and knitwear, each made with intention and care.
