About Millstream Home

Millstream Home is our ode to our Amish heritage. My husband Jake grew up on a Lancaster farm, raised Amish until 16, and I am a first-generation non-Amish woman—born after my parents left the Amish culture, yet deeply shaped by their rich Amish roots. Our childhoods inspired a love for craftsmanship, imagination, and meaningful homes. As we built our own family life along the Millstream, filled with children, dreams, and entrepreneurship, we realized we had little from our childhoods to pass down. What makes an object an heirloom? Could we start creating them now? In early 2016, I drove countless hours down back roads, searching for talented makers still using historic production methods.Their stories became ours, and Millstream Home was born. We believe in mindful purchasing and supporting local, American-made artisans, from quilters and basket weavers to blacksmiths and potters. Each piece comes from someone’s hands, heart, and home, not a factory. Our flagship retail store is located in Bird-in-Hand, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania — a beloved tourist destination. We are currently developing Millstream Home Design House, an exclusive initiative connecting designers directly with our skilled Makers to create custom, private-label product lines.
