About FERN Studio

Sustainable concrete homeware and Studio Waste jewellery. Handmade, design led, products from North Hertfordshire UK. All of the products I make are individually designed and made, by me, in my garden studio in North Herts, UK. The influence and style of my designs comes predominantly from brutalism. Clean geometric lines, mixed with smooth round edges, form the basis of all of my products. I design and create master objects from clay and then make silicone moulds from these objects, for small scale repeat production. I cast with sustainable Portland cement, mixed with fine aggregates and water based pigments. The waste from homeware casting, is used to form pieces for jewellery items making me almost zero waste in my production process. FERN homeware products form a cohesive range of beautifully pigmented concrete objects. All homeware products are intended to be matched together, in mixed groups, or as individual items.
