In the chaos of World War II, deep in the heart of Bönninghardt, a man named Peter Scholten secretly worked on a drink that was more than just a simple herbal schnapps. Together with his wife Katarina, he mixed herbs from their garden, honey from their own bees, and the scent of fresh orange peels – hoping to create something lasting in a time when nothing was certain. Peter was passionate – not just about distilling schnapps, but also about the idea of creating a liqueur that brings people together. He spent nights over steaming kettles, sweating with a burning head over recipes. His friends soon called him simply: the "Brennschädel" (burning head). And the name stuck. What began back then in a small shed lives on today as Brennschädel herbal liqueur: with 16 select herbs, real blossom honey, and a hint of citrus.
