About The Dusty Lamp

Born and raised in the Pacific northwest, Coleman Anderson draws heavily on the colors and textures of his home in his art. Deep earth tones, the pattern and texture of scales and the spiky, more defensive aspects of nature play a key role in Colemans aesthetic. Always being very creative and crafty from a young age, he attended an art focused high school and discovered glass shortly after. For five years he worked a production job to master the basic skills, all while playing artistically when he could. The following two years would be spent teaching bead making at a local middle school. His free time was spent in his home studio diving deeply into what he wanted his art to look like. Recently Coleman graduated Salem community college in New Jersey with a degree in scientific glass work. He now lives and works in Everett Washington in his home studio. Colemans vision is to express nature’s more aggressive and defensive side and to use light as a symbol for the beauty found within that. Read their story
