About Southern Chicks

When Southern Chicks was created, we brought the values of our Southern roots into our small business. Southern Chicks Children's Clothing Brand is owned by ShanaRae a wife, mom, & special needs mom. Growing up my grandmother was a local well-known seamstress in South Louisiana. She sewed everyday clothing to event and Christening dresses. What sparked my interest in designing and sewing was the love and time my grandmother put into each unique piece she created. From making her own patterns, choosing the right fabrics, thread, sewing techniques, etc. i would press her foot pedal and absorb it all in.Wanting to preserve her legacy and values of sewing that's where Southern Chicks was born. Each of our creations start from scratch from drawing up our mock design creating our own patterns for our fabric, to be printed, applique, smocked, or designed. Being a mom and a special needs mom i always keep comfort and sensory in mind while choosing fabric. When i originally started Southern Chicks i was hand sewing our own creations. As we quickly grew, I made lifelong connections and friendships with these two teams of seamstresses. They now help keep our value of quality and uniqueness of each design that we create for you little one in mind. We work with them consistently as we create our unique pieces, as they hand sew them for us. We appreciate all of our customers and will continue to make unique, great quality children's clothing with love into each design piece.Read their story
