About Ryan Doolittle Glass

Hi Lovelies! Thanks for checking out my page of what makes me happiest to create! A little about me... I grew up in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains and Chapel Hill, North Carolina and spent my formative years surrounded by nature and learning to make art out of clay. I discovered the joy of gifting what I had made to my family, fell in love with making for others and haven't stopped since. After going to school for ceramics, I found glass and quickly became completely infatuated with it. The last 24+ years have been full of attempting to master but mostly having fun with this craziest of mercurial mediums and sharing my love of it with others all over the country and world. My glass tends to be quirky, niche and rich in color and texture. I love to play with modern design, ergonomics, whimsy and unexpected functionality. Working on prototypes and perfecting designs is an endless source of joy and frustration and collaborating with fellow glass artists is a highlight of this craft form for me. After working for the Corning Museum of Glass for ten years sharing my love of the material with the world I have been enjoying being a full-time maker for the first time. I spend my free time gardening, pampering my feline fur babies and enjoying the unique ecosystems, vittles and wildlife Austin, Texas has to offer.Read their story
