When my son was just 18 months old, I sat in a physical therapy office and heard words no parent ever wants to hear: “He may never run, skip, or hop.” Soon after, we received his autism diagnosis. I left that appointment, buckled him into his car seat, shut the door, and sobbed - feeling completely alone and overwhelmed. I quit my career in finance and dedicated my life to my son’s health and wellness needs. Our journey started with food restrictions, finding the right support, and learning how to nourish his body and mind. But along the way, I discovered something bigger: HEALTHY CHOICES SHOULDN’T BE EXHAUSTING. THEY SHOULD BE SIMPLE, SATISFYING, AND TASTE AMAZING. So, I studied nutrition and became a wellness chef because I wanted to learn how to feed my son better meals. FAST FORWARD >>> now my son runs circles around me, is an avid swimmer, and has helped me set up tables at the farmers market, proudly displaying the granola we created together. Autism taught me that limits are meant to be challenged, that health is more than just food. It’s about community, well-being, patience, and believing in possibilities others may not yet see. Selym Snacks emerged from that journey - what began as a personal solution to food restrictions became a mission to simplify healthy eating. We craft inclusive, low-sugar, protein-packed snacks that are gluten, casein, and dairy free - designed to fuel busy lives. Read their story
