Folk & Lore is a female-owned candle studio in Boise, Idaho, founded by a holistic esthetician with a passion for ritual, sustainability, and the art of expression. As modern-day chandlers, we carry forward an ancestral craft. The heritage skill of candle making into a contemporary form. Our ethos is simple: simplicity, sustainability, and authenticity. Every candle is hand-dipped or hand-poured from pure Idaho beeswax sourced directly from a local apiary. The wax comes from the cappings of honey cells—sustainably harvested, carefully filtered, and transformed into blocks of golden wax. Once it reaches our studio, it’s refined again for clarity and purity, ensuring a clean, consistent burn.Each piece is finished by hand with wicks made from beeswax-coated hemp or organic braided cotton, chosen intentionally for the style and size of the candle. The result is a candle that’s both functional and expressive—no additives, no fragrance, just pure beeswax gold.
