About Open Coven

Open Coven provides fiber art resources for empowerment. This includes kits, charts, and workshops. It is owned by me: Liz Watkin. My work is inspired by artists such as Corita Kent, Shepard Fairey, and Barbara Kruger. I am also influenced by the occult, zine culture, street art, graphic design and my home Asheville. I have been a hand stitcher all my life and wanted to create designs that had a social message. The kits I was seeing were nice but I wanted to say something with my art, thus the evolution of Open Coven. All designs are printed in North Carolina with an independent business committed to sustainability and equity.Read their story
