About KOKO + CO

My name is Korey Benitez, owner of KOKO + Co. I am a maker and creator at heart. There is nothing I enjoy more than making something out of nothing and making things that bring joy to people. I love anything that includes creating, designing and working with my hands. I have always known I would do something artistic that I could share with the world, I just didn’t know that it would be designing and making jewelry. My jewelry is a true extension of myself. I am a wife and a mom of three amazing kids! I love sharing my creative passion with my children! Growing up, both of my parents were always making or building something. They are both handy and have a great eye for design. Naturally, these traits rubbed off on my siblings and me. I studied art for a short period in college, but ultimately ended up graduating with a BBA in business & marketing. I then started my long journey from commercial flooring sales to interior design, then to commercial furniture sales. Though none of these careers is what I saw myself doing forever, I gained a true appreciation for art and design and really began to understand form and function. This is the foundation of my jewelry creations. After leaving my job in furniture sales in December 2020, my mom, sister and I started making clay jewelry for fun. I immediately fell in love and made it my mission to learn as much as I could about jewelry making and perfecting my techniques.
