About EKOMODO
The story of EKOMODO begins at EKO-Rec, an international industrial company in recycling and circular economy, as it is the only one in Europe that recycles PET plastic bottles (around 5 million bottles recycled every day) and, in the same facilities, converts them into different industrial products, taking part in various stages of the value chain. Back in 2019, three young Eko-REC workers identified the opportunity to close the waste cycle even more, turning the fiber that was manufactured at EKO-Rec into products that people could use in their daily lives... and doing so, in addition, betting on design and functionality, which play a key role when we talk about sustainable products. LOCAL PRODUCTION We manufacture in close proximity, with local raw materials and with local suppliers. SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS We work under the principles of ecodesign and the circular economy, minimizing waste and using 100% recycled and recyclable materials. SOCIAL IMPACT We involve people from groups at risk of exclusion in the making, through collaboration with social workshops in the environment.
